Panel-first service Scoped, permitted, and labeled

Most older panels were not built for today.

Modern DFW homes ask more from their panels than many were designed to carry. EV chargers, larger HVAC systems, home offices, induction ranges, and remodels all stack load onto old equipment. Lantern checks capacity first, explains the code path, and completes the work with labels, testing, and inspection handled.

Questions before you book.

Clear answers before anyone shows up at your house.

Not always. A 100A panel can support a Level 2 charger if your existing load leaves headroom. We run a load calculation before recommending anything. If your panel is already running hot, we will tell you upfront rather than install a charger that trips breakers every time you plug in.
Most 100A to 200A upgrades close in one day. We schedule the utility disconnect in advance, complete the work while power is off, and pass the inspection before we leave. You are usually back to full power the same afternoon.
Yes, on all work that requires one. Panel upgrades, rewiring, new circuits, and EV charger installs all require permits in DFW municipalities. We handle the filing and coordinate the final inspection. Unpermitted electrical work creates real problems when you sell the home or file an insurance claim.
If your home was built before 1980, it may have aluminum wiring or outdated grounding. Neither is automatically dangerous, but both need evaluation by a licensed electrician. We inspect, document what we find, and give you an honest picture of your actual risk before recommending any work.
A panel-level surge protector clamps voltage spikes that come in through the utility line. It protects your HVAC, refrigerator, washer, dryer, and everything else connected to your home. Point-of-use strips only protect one outlet cluster. For DFW homes with frequent summer storms, panel-level protection is worth it.
Guardians panel monitoring tracks load by circuit, thermal readings, voltage fluctuation, and breaker trip events. A loose connection or overloaded circuit often shows up as a thermal anomaly or a pattern of micro-trips before it becomes a visible problem. That is what catching it early looks like.
